In the face of today’s electrified, digitalized world, the focus at the 2012 Donaueschingen Festival from 19th to 21st of october will be on instrumentations – on the one hand, instrumentations consisting of simple electronic instruments, particularly samplers and interfaces, and on the other, instrumentations characterized by a small but very specific grouping of acoustic instruments, a grouping in which electroacoustic instruments like the electric guitar and electric violin assume a unifying, integrative role between the various media.
