Workshop for students
This year marks the first time that scholarships for student participants from Eastern Europe are being offered and the possibility of acquiring five college credits, which can be applied to either bachelor’s- or master’s-level studies. The scholarships are to cover the 90 EUR course fee as well as provide an additional 100 EUR for travel costs. All who are interested are requested to make note of their interest in their festival application form and to submit the application by May 13.

This year, following the great successes of the student workshops in the last two years, we are offering 150 workshop places for students under the title 'Next Generation'.
Thanks to financial support provided by the German Federal Cultural Foundation, the Donaueschinger Musiktage festival can make 150 tickets available for every festival performance to students from European Music Colleges. They are also invited to participate in the workshop "Donaueschinger Musiktage – The next generation", which will take place in Donaueschingen and on the premises of the Musikhochschule Trossingen from Wednesday 12th to Monday 17th of October 2011. The Fürstenberg brewery Donaueschingen is pleased to be sponsoring this workshop and the programme will be organized and run by the Institute for contemporary Music of the College of Music in Frankfurt.
Another festival first is the possibility of acquiring five college credits, which can be applied to either bachelor’s- or master’s-level studies. In order to receive this credit, students must participate in the Musiktage concerts, all off-program events and in the preparations for and wrap-up after the festival. Descriptions of the module and more specific information on this possibility will be published here soon.
A set of tickets for all Festival events may be purchased at a total amount of € 90,00 per student. Orders will be processed according to payment receipt. The fee is charged for the workshop and it includes accommodation from 12th to 17th of October 2010, participation in the workshop, free entry to all Festival concerts, rehearsal attendance and special lectures by this year's Festival composers. The live event on Thursday, 13th of October 2010, 8 p.m., arranged by the Bavarian broadcasting studio BR in collaboration with the neighbouring local broadcasting studios SWR is also free.
The workshop will start on Wednesday, 12th of October 2011 in Donaueschingen with a grand opening party and will end on Monday, 18th of October 2010 with a concert on the premises of the Musikhochschule Trossingen, featuring works of student composers from European Music Colleges. Interested persons are asked to submit their scores for works up to 7 instruments until the beginning of June 2010 to the “Amt für Kultur, Tourismus und Marketing (Office for Culture, Tourism and Marketing), Karlstr. 58, 78166 Donaueschingen (Germany). The works to be performed will be chosen by an independent jury.
From Thursday to Monday students can participate in group discussions, attend rehearsals and talk to this year's Festival composers.
Please download the PDF-file with the registration form, fill it in and send it via fax or mail to the "Amt für Kultur, Tourismus und Marketing Donaueschingen" (complete Adress is in the PDF-File).
