The Oscars Colin Firth wins best actor award

The King's Speech takes four Oscars

The King's Speech has been named the best picture at the Oscars, as its star Colin Firth took the best actor award on a night which saw the film taking two more Oscars.

As Firth's counterpart as the best women actor Natalie Portman was given the award for her role in the Black Swan. The King's Speech pipped the modern internet story, The Social Network, to take the best film award and also took the top award in the categories best director and best original screenplay. The Social Network won for adapted screenplay, film editing and score.
